PBS Live Music Week is one of our most exciting weeks of the year. It’s a week-long celebration of Melbourne’s incredible live Music scene and the part that PBS plays in it. It’s about giving performers a chance to play their music directly to a wide audience and about our commitment to live music on the station.
This means that every show between 9am and Midnight featured a band playing live on air. With The Breakfast Spread giving you the best of The Easey Street Sessions from 2009, and every show having a ‘live’ focus, we heard over 70 acts throughout the week.
In 2009, Live Music Week ran from 7-14 December. To kick things off we had a massive launch party at The Corner Hotel on Sunday 6th of December from 1 – 7pm with a wide range of styles to give a taste of the diversity that PBS brings to Melbourne's airwaves. The afternoon was broadcast live on PBS.
Artists performing were Diafrix, Polo Club, Kylie Auldist, Warped, The PBS Jazz Allstars featuring Paul Williamson, Richi Madan and his Bollywood dancers, Geoff Achison and the Melbourne Mass Gospel Choir, as well as some of your favourite PBS DJs and presenters.
