Sweet Jean – one of Melbourne's finest purveyors of folk and country – have once again delivered with their latest mini-LP Greetings From Goodbye! Although their debut album Dear Departure was a couple of years in the making, it proved to be one of the best of 2013. As their second full-length album is still a little while away, Alice Keath and Sime Nugent have decided to not keep fans waiting too long and have come out with this beautiful duo release. This time around, they've decided to revisit a few songs they originally recorded for their first EP Songs From The Start and just given them a little tweak. A few are covers including a driving rendition of the Doc Boggs tune (by way of Peggy Seeger) Country Blues and the John Jacob Niles tune I Wonder As I Wander. They've also added a couple of brand new songs including the title track and the really beautiful Lilly Song. This is a really beautiful release. I can't wait to see what direction they take next!
