The Railway Gang is an all acoustic string band, consisting of two guitars, ukulele, upright bass, fiddle and steel guitar. There are four vocalists, who perform either individually or in four part harmony or in various combinations.

The repertoire of the Railway Gang consists of tin pan alley pop tunes of the ‘teens and ‘twenties, Hawaiian songs, Calypsos, hillbilly songs, Latin tangos, fiddle breakdowns, rags, blues and polkas, or anything else that suits the lineup of instruments and voices.
The band members are: Tracey Miller, vocals, ukulele and tenor guitar; Greg O’Leary, fiddle and vocals; Rick Dempster; Hawaiian steel guitar, harmonica and vocals; Ashley Kluss, guitar and tenor banjo; Peter Beulke, upright bass, and Peter Baylor, guitar, six-string banjo and vocals.
The Railway Gang take their name from their ongoing Thursday night residency (since May 2013) at the Railway Hotel, Nicholson street Fitzroy North.
