Mogwai Music Industry 3 Fitness Industry 1 (PBS Feature Record)
Mogwai use EPs to explore different directions, and remind us they are still with us between album releases.
The new EP, Music Industry 3, Fitness Industry 1, features three new tracks that didn't fit on last year’s Rave Tapes LP as well as three remixes from the album. The diverse collection includes vocals on the opener, “Teenage Exorcists”, followed by two tracks that are less synth-based than what appeared on Rave Tapes. All three remixes are excellent additions. After almost 20 years, Mogwai show they can still surprise us.

Bjork Vulnicura (Featured on The Breakfast Spread)
Could I swoon any more over Björk’s new album? I doubt it. Vulnicura is one of those rare albums that immediately heightens your senses and makes whatever emotions you happen to be feeling at the time ten times stronger. Each song builds on this intensity, as though each one is telling you something about yourself that you didn’t know before. Her use of strings to tap into these unknown places is masterful, and to me this is the hallmark of an album that I know I’ll be listening to in 20 years’ time. Maybe the intensity and range of feelings of Vulnicura are to be expected, considering she has described it as her ‘break up album’ – of course created in Björk’s incredibly distinctive way. Some parts of the album almost convey a sense of urgency, yet this is her most melodic output to date. A must listen for anyone who is into discovery, or simply beautiful music that at the same time pushes all the boundaries.
