This week on State of the Art, Cat & Crispi spoke with Ciel Fuller, the director of Darebin's True North Arts Festival which is running from Friday 17 - Sunday 19 April.

This welcoming community festival feature local artists, writers, performers, tricksters, comics, musicians, dreamers, elders and emerging artists. Artists' studios and warehouses will host exhibitions and events providing interesting outposts featuring a vibrant range of exhibitions and events for curious minds to explore. True North's Explorers and Outposts strand sees musicians showcase a broad range of music at local creative spaces, including old blues, jazz, indie-art rock and Balkan. Featured is The Last Juke Joint At The End Of The Line event: including Rattlin Bones Blackwood, Pork Chop Party, Danny Walsh, and DJ sounds from MC Matt Frederick (The Juke Joint PBS 106.7FM).

Also interviewed Drew Burns, Lucy Irvine and Twyla Skeggs from the Faces Of Melbourne exhibition.

As part of National Youth Week 2015, students from Swinburne University present the 'Faces of Melbourne' portrait exhibition to help raise funds for the National Youth Mental Health Foundation. Faces of Melbourne' showcases eight young up & coming Melbourne-based artists each employing different mediums in their portraits including photography, airbrush, drawings and paintings. The exhibition runs for three days from Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th April. All artwork is for sale and funds raised go to Headspace to continue their work assisting young people in crisis.
