Melbourne kaleidoscopic psych rockers Buried Feather proudly announce Mind of the Swarm, the much anticipated follow-up to their 2013 debut LP.

With a sound built on fuzzy drone and swirling keyboards, Buried Feather’s live shows have built a loyal following, drawing regular comparisons to the likes of Dead Meadow and Spacemen 3. Their self-titled 2013 debut album was a woozy, atmospheric affair that was well loved by Australian Community Radio. During this time Buried Feather toured regularly in support of their record, including dates with beloved U.S. psych acts Endless Boogie and Earthless.

Recorded in Melbourne by PBS' own Paul Maybury (King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard) and mixed by Nick Franklin (The Grates, Deep Sea Arcade), Mind of the Swarm is a dynamic realisation of Buried Feather’s signature hypnotic sound.

Buried Feather cover plenty of territory on the new record, starting out with the off-kilter fuzz-pop of Would I Miss You and the swirling, kosmische trance of first single Dust. Deeper into the record, Endless C’s sunny, doped-up groove brings some light, but there is plenty of shade as well. On the album’s title track, Buried Feather layer menacing riffs over a pulsating rhythm before the song falls away to nothing - only to return with even darker intent.

To support the release of the album, Buried Feather are playing a run of dates through February and March, taking in Wollongong, Sydney, Adelaide and Castlemaine, along with two Melbourne shows at Howler (Brunswick, Feb 11th) and Sooki Lounge (Belgrave, Feb 16th) with Pony Face and Baptism of Uzi.

Buried Feather are set to release Mind of the Swarm simultaneously worldwide on February 10th, 2017 on 180gm limited vinyl through Melbourne indie label Cobra Snake Necktie Records and revered German stoner rock imprint Kozmik Artifactz.
