We are proud to present an exciting new collaboration with independent community music organisation Foreign Brothers – MOMENTUM, a monthly party taking place at The Evelyn.
After a hugely successful (full house) opening party, Momentum returns with Chapter #002: R&B and Soul Showcase at The Evelyn Hotel on Saturday April 29th 8pm-2am.
After building a strong reputation for being an inclusive, diverse jam session opened to all kinds of creative minds every second week since 2015, Momentum has now transformed into a monthly, full venue takeover of The Evelyn featuring live music showcases of emerging and established artists in the band room, an all-night jam session in the public bar and a rotating line-up of PBS DJs - across 2 stages with visuals courtesy of Rhys Newling.
For Chapter #002, we've invited some of our favorite local acts to the stage, with Mike Gurrieri from Mystic Brew & Danny osx (Foreign Brothers) on the 1s and 2s throughout the night.
This month's band line-up:
- Big Words who will bring their tight blend of soul, R&B and hip hop back to the hometown after a national tour!
- The young upcoming local favorite KAIIT who's progressively becoming the new act to watch for all Neo-Soul lovers - if you haven't seen her at the last The Social Studio block party, make sure you check her out!
- Rat Child who made us fall in love with her music and beautiful stage presence over the past few months - the missing link between Soul, Jazz and Blues!
- Our new HopeStreet Recordings favorites Zillanova performing with their killer 5 piece band.
And of course, and always, The CoreTet bringing the funk, the soul, the jazz and the hip hop in our brand new Public Bar Stage!
Stemmed from the need to provide a space for musicians to experiment and jam, Momentum is expanding as a space where local music is nurtured, showcased and given capacity to grow.
