Saturday 30 April 2011
Melbourne’s punk rock institution, The Arthouse, closed its doors forever on Saturday 30th April 2011, marking 20 years of commitment to community and musical mayhem.
Going out with a bang and in true Arthouse style, PBS and The Arty were stoked to present the LIVE broadcast of the LAST EVER show with The Critics (WA), Fear Like Us, Hawaiian Islands and H Block 101. This show sold out in record time.
Lovingly run and lived in by one family for its entire 20 year lease, The Arthouse gathered a larger extended family along the way. Music venue, recording studio, and home to many permanent and semi permanent residents, it has surely been a rare and wondrous establishment.
Have your own goodbye arty party and listen back to this historic occasion. Your host is Claire Stuchbery.
