This week's PBS Feature Album is Nashville-based label Easy Eye Sound's new anthology Tell Everybody! 

The album is a bracing compilation, produced by Dan Auerbach - winner of the GRAMMY Award as 2013 Producer of the Year - featuring all new, exclusive recordings cut at Easy Eye Sound’s eponymous Nashville studio. From old masters to brilliant youngbloods, acoustic blues to roiling blues-rock, the collection is a fully realised survey of the blues tradition.

Melbourne Blues artist Lloyd Spiegel has been touring the globe for 30 of his 40 years.  The 14 time Australian Blues Award winner has one of the most interesting stories in music, having grown up on stage learning from, and touring with the founding fathers of modern Blues.

On Saturday July 15, 2023 flamenco fusion 4-piece, Malcura, popped by to perform an exclusive Studio 5 Live set on Fiesta Jazz.

Blending flamenco and rhumba rhythms with everything from funk, to metal, to jazz and swing, Malcura proved why they're such a staple of the local music scene. The sound is all driven by a Spanish nylon string guitar, accompanied by bass and drums.

The UpStart Award is an annual grant of $10,000 to an emerging Victoria singer-songwriter. The award is funded by a music loving family in Melbourne and the winner will be decided by a panel of local artists and music experts.

You might still be busking, you may have recorded a few tracks  or you might be playing pub gigs; but you’re not on the map yet.

The award will be adjudicated by a panel consisting of Victorian artists Angie MacMahon and Shane Howard, and a range of industry experts from community radio, retail, and streaming services.

This July, PBS once again partnered with the City of Yarra to present a huge live-to-air broadcast as part of the annual Leaps and Bounds Music Festival. Each year PBS takes our Thursday afternoon alt-country program to a venue in Yarra and throws a party with some of our favourite local artists.

This year we head to lower Johnston to present Swinging Doors live-to-air from Lulie Tavern between 3pm and 5pm, Thursday July 13.

Leaps and Bounds Music Festival is warming up the heart of Yarra again this winter.

City of Yarra’s annual winter music festival, Leaps and Bounds, is heating up the streets again this July. In its 11th year, with over 40 events, spanning a diversity of live music acts, arts activities and cultural celebrations, this year’s festival is set to bring the City of Yarra to life.

Pianist and composer, Sinj Clarke, has been quietly building a reputation for his laconic style of composition that is reminiscent of late seventies Italian film scores and sun-drenched exotica. Sinj Clarke’s debut EP Music For An Italian Afternoon showcased his bold orchestration and auteur's attention to detail, which he followed up with double single, 'I Fell In Love, Again' / 'Unas Horas'.
