by Pat Capocci Combo

Rockabilly has a strong affinity with Australian rock & roll with many bands finding success here and in Europe. This is not to say that rockabilly here is a clone of what has come before or what is being produced today. Pat Capocci may not be a household name hailing from the Maitland-Hunter region of New South Wales but his journey is one to envy. Starting at sixteen like so many other aspiring musicians Capocci started playing in local bands then landed a spot with legendry local act Johnny Green's Blues Cowboys. This would be the grounding and direction that Capocci would follow, writing most of his material. After leaving Johnny Green's outfit Capocci was asked to join the Buddy Holly stage show portraying Ritchie Valens. It was at this time he decided to form the now highly talented trio The Pat Capocci Combo who have toured and performed internationally to much acclaim. Like most rockabilly trios Pat is joined on upright double bass and vocals by Damien Lawson and Ricky "The Goat" on drums and vocals. Add to this Ben Franz on steel guitar and the sound is as authentic as it can be.

Rockabilly has always been about girls and cars, not necessarily in that order but more importantly about having a good ole time. Before you put this new fangled CD in the player my advice is to roll back the carpet then slick back your duck tails while the girls slip on the saddlebacks, poodle skirt and twinset. Congratulations goes out to the combo for their wonderful songs delivered perfectly, this is how l want my rockabilly to sound. Also kudos goes out to Jamie "Dingo" Suppa and his Press-Tone Records and the Hailstone Studios of Paulie Bignell who also engineered this release. Now that l have you wanting more - check out these CDs: Delinquent Beat, Steppin' Out and Press-Tone Rockabilly Vol 4.
