by The Spinning Rooms

Complicating Things was recorded and mixed by Tom Lyngcoln (Harmony, The Nation Blue) and mastered by Mikey Young (Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Total Control) – the same team that delivered their self-titled, self-released debut album. Complicating Things is a weird deviation from what was already a strange path. Like a drunk taking their multiple personality disorder out for a spin, it lurches from one corner of the pub to the other, charming and offending anyone stupid enough to engage.

Clocking in at 39 minutes, the seven tracks feature guest performances from Phil Gionfriddo (The Bowers, Jacky Winter) and Christina Arnold (The Perfections).

As well as being handpicked to play the ATP festival alongside The Breeders, Television and The Scientists, 2013 has seen The Spinning Rooms support the likes of Dinosaur Jr, Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine, and Primitive Calculators, as well as slots on much-loved Melbourne backyard festivals, Applecore, Paddock Bash, All Good In The Wood, and a live-to-air for PBS’s Drive Live with The Meanies.
